Assam Budget 2019 at a Glance:
- Every student from the tea garden will get a stipend of Rs.10,000 every month
- One tola of gold to brides of all communities whose annual family income is below Rs.5 lakh
- Rice at Rs. 1 per kg instead of the present rate of Rs 3 per kg which is aimed at benefitting 53 lakh households
- Free textbooks to students up to degree level studying in all three streams (Science, Arts and Commerce) whose parental income is below Rs 2 lakh per annum
- Free uniform scheme extended for students of class IX and X at a cost of Rs.700 per year
- A subsidy of Rs.700 per month for 10 months to every student irrespective of economic status
- Girl students securing 1st division and above in higher secondary exams to receive “e-bikes”
- A bank deposit of Rs.50,000 each to 15,700 student’s loan account
- Monthly assistance of Rs.1000 to divyangyans
- Monthly pension of Rs.250 for widows above the age of 60 years
- Immediate assistance of Rs.25,000 for widows under the age of 40 years
- A capital subsidy of Rs.50,000 to each Self-Help Group for bank loans to Rs.63,000
- Newly adopted SHGs will be provided with an initial revolving fund of Rs.25,000 per SHG
- Cashless healthcare scheme for patients whose annual income is Rs.5 lakh or less for 6 critical diseases – Cancer, Heart disease, Neurology, Neonatology, Kidney disease and burns.
- Old age pension scheme increased to five times from Rs.50 to Rs.250 per month
- 2.5 lakh subsidy for citizens who want to avail home loans up to Rs.40 lakh
- 2 lakh each to the religious institutions as an annuity grant
- One time grant of Rs.1 lakh to religious places for setting up CCTV cameras
- Rs 10 lakh to over 800 religious destinations for improving the infrastructure in and around the temple
- 150 crore allocation for improving the road linking the religious, spiritual, historic and tourists destinations
- Giant statues of three monarchs of Assam, Kumar Bhaskaravarman, Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha, and Maharaj Nara-Narayana, to be built at the state secretariat
- 1000 number of timber bridges to be converted into RCC bridges.
